What is Mind One

Mind One is a Contextual Data Management (CDM) platform that lets data teams manage what the data lakehouse doesn’t: data context, business definitions, validation rules and the organization’s master data.

Data teams have spent years using spreadsheets to capture what doesn’t fit in BigQuery or Snowflake: what each field means, who owns each piece of data, which values are valid, how entities relate to each other. Mind One is the tool that should have existed for that.

Why not spreadsheets?

The spreadsheet isn’t the problem. It’s the symptom that no alternative existed. The problem is managing contextual data in a spreadsheet that:

• Has no built-in business validation
• Doesn’t record who changed what, or when
• Doesn’t sync with the data warehouse

Key capabilities

Workspaces

Containers for organizing data by business domain — Customers, Products, Suppliers, Assets. Each workspace defines a schema of typed fields with cross-field validation rules.

Sheets

Master data tables with spreadsheet-like editing, real-time validation, versioning, an approval workflow (draft/approved) and locking to prevent concurrent edits.

Import / Export

Bulk import from Excel with upfront validation, template downloads and export to Excel and PDF. Support for asynchronous imports at large volumes.

Value Lists

Reusable catalogs of options (countries, categories, statuses) linked to sheet fields. They can be static or dynamic, sourced from another sheet.

Autosync

Syncing with Snowflake, Google BigQuery and Databricks, among others. Each connection tracks status, last sync and errors.

Groups

Logical grouping of related sheets, independent of workspaces. Lets you organize data by business process or project.

Real-time collaboration

Instant syncing of changes, locks and notifications between connected users via native WebSocket.

RBAC

Five roles with granular permissions: Admin, Modeller, Contributor, Data Explorer and Data Viewer

Public API

A REST API authenticated via API Keys for programmatic access to workspaces, sheets, groups, value lists and account information.
